As a key member of our engineering department, you will lead complex design initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional innovators, and ensure our electrical systems exceed performance benchmarks.
Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle design of power distribution systems and high-voltage equipment.
- Perform advanced load flow, short-circuit, and protective relay coordination studies using ETAP or SKM.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate renewable energy sources into existing utility grids.
- Develop detailed technical specifications, wiring schematics, and Bill of Materials (BOM) for large-scale projects.
- Conduct on-site inspections and commissioning to ensure adherence to NEC, IEEE, and ANSI standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical oversight for ongoing system optimization projects.
- Drive continuous improvement through the implementation of emerging smart grid automation technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of California is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 6+ years of professional experience in power systems design or utility engineering.
- Expertise in industry-standard software: ETAP, AutoCAD Electrical, SKM PowerTools, or Revit.
- Deep working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and IEEE electrical standards.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electrical system failures and implement preventative strategies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical data to non-technical stakeholders.
