Responsibilities
- Design and optimize high-voltage power distribution systems for utility-scale solar farms
- Develop control algorithms for smart grid automation using MATLAB/Simulink
- Conduct electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing and compliance analysis
- Lead technical reviews of substation and transformer specifications
- Prepare detailed engineering documentation including schematics and BOMs
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with external vendors
- Stay current with IEEE standards and emerging grid technologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in power systems or utility-scale projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Expertise in AutoCAD Electrical and ETAP software
- Strong knowledge of NEC and IEEE 1547 standards
- Experience with renewable energy integration and microgrid design
- Demonstrated project leadership with $1M+ budgets
