Responsibilities
- Design and validate high-reliability power electronics systems (DC-DC converters, motor drives, battery management)
- Develop FPGA-based embedded control systems with real-time processing capabilities
- Create comprehensive schematics, PCB layouts, and EMC-compliant hardware designs
- Lead root cause analysis of electrical failures and implement robust mitigation strategies
- Mentor junior engineers and establish best practices for documentation and testing
- Collaborate with certification teams to ensure FAA/EASA compliance
- Research and integrate emerging technologies (SiC/GaN semiconductors, wireless power transfer)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of aerospace/defense experience
- Expertise in Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or similar EDA tools
- Proven track record in power electronics design (≥1kW systems) and thermal management
- Strong background in DO-160 environmental testing and MIL-STD-461 compliance
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for system modeling and control algorithm development
- Experience with high-voltage systems (400V+) and safety-critical architectures
- Active PE license or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Excellent communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder presentations
