This position requires both technical excellence and leadership skills to mentor junior engineers while driving complex projects from prototype to production.
Responsibilities
- Lead design and validation of aerospace electrical systems including power distribution, avionics, and communication networks
- Develop comprehensive schematics, PCB layouts, and test protocols using industry-standard tools (Altium, Cadence)
- Collaborate with mechanical and software teams to ensure seamless system integration and electromagnetic compatibility
- Conduct root cause analysis of electrical failures and implement robust mitigation strategies
- Mentor junior engineers and establish best practices for hardware development lifecycle
- Interface with FAA and international certification bodies to ensure compliance with DO-160, RTCA DO-178C, and other aviation standards
- Research emerging technologies (SiC/GaN semiconductors, wireless power transfer) to enhance system performance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in aerospace or high-reliability electronics development
- Expertise in high-speed digital design, power electronics, and EMI/EMC mitigation
- Proficiency with simulation tools (SPICE, HFSS) and lab equipment (oscilloscopes, network analyzers)
- Familiarity with DO-160 environmental testing and FAA certification processes
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional technical teams
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license or willingness to obtain immediately
- Background in autonomous systems, motor drives, or RF communication systems
