Responsibilities
- Design and optimize electrical power systems for commercial-scale solar and wind installations
- Develop detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications using AutoCAD and EPLAN
- Conduct power flow analysis and load calculations to ensure system efficiency and compliance
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex electrical systems
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews
- Collaborate with procurement team on component selection and vendor management
- Ensure all designs meet NEC standards and project-specific requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in power systems design for renewable energy projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Expert proficiency in AutoCAD, EPLAN, and ETAP software
- Strong understanding of NEC, IEEE, and IEC standards
- Experience with medium-voltage systems and SCADA integration
- Demonstrated project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
