Join Nexus Power Systems as a Senior Electrical Design Engineer and lead the development of next-generation power electronics for renewable energy systems. We're seeking an innovator to design, prototype, and validate high-efficiency power conversion solutions that will shape the future of sustainable energy. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams in our state-of-the-art Austin facility and contribute to projects with global impact.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop power electronics circuits including inverters, converters, and battery management systems
- Create detailed PCB layouts using Altium Designer and perform signal integrity analysis
- Lead hardware validation testing including thermal, EMI, and reliability assessments
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews for quality assurance
- Collaborate with firmware teams to integrate hardware with control systems
- Develop technical documentation including schematics, BOMs, and test procedures
- Stay current with industry standards (IEC 62109, UL 1741) and emerging technologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in power electronics design and development
- Expertise in Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or similar EDA tools
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor devices (MOSFETs, IGBTs, SiC/GaN)
- Experience with thermal management and power density optimization
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for simulation and modeling
- Certifications in functional safety (ISO 26262) or power systems (PE) preferred
- Proven track record of bringing products from concept to production
