Responsibilities
- Develop & Implement Safety Protocols: Lead the creation, review, and enforcement of comprehensive Environmental Health and Safety policies, ensuring alignment with local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, Cal/OSHA).
- Regulatory Compliance Audits: Conduct regular internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure continuous compliance with environmental standards and ISO 14001 requirements.
- Incident Management: Lead the investigation of accidents, near-misses, and environmental incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Training & Development: Design and deliver engaging safety training programs and workshops for staff at all levels, cultivating a "Safety First" mindset throughout the organization.
- Emergency Preparedness: Oversee the development and testing of emergency response plans, ensuring the organization is prepared for any crisis situation.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, or a related field required. NEBOSH or CIEH certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in EHS management, preferably within a manufacturing, tech, or industrial sector.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in EHS management software (e.g., Cority, Intelex) and strong knowledge of OSHA standards and California environmental regulations.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex safety data to executive leadership and non-technical audiences.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive cultural change regarding health and safety.
