Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management systems aligned with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Lead the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Manage regulatory compliance, including local, provincial, and federal environmental and safety regulations.
- Deliver engaging safety training programs and toolbox talks to foster a culture of safety awareness across all levels of the organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.
- Prepare detailed EHS reports for management and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications
- Certified Professional in EHS (e.g., CRSP, NEBOSH, CIH, or CSP) or equivalent professional designation.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in EHS management, preferably within the manufacturing or industrial sector.
- Strong working knowledge of Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA), Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), and related legislation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and lead diverse teams.
- Proficiency in EHS software systems and data analysis tools.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing safety improvement initiatives.
