Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead our sustainability initiatives and ensure a zero-accident workplace culture. Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive EHS policies and procedures in accordance with federal and provincial regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and prepare detailed reports for management and regulatory bodies.
- Manage compliance with environmental permits and waste management protocols, ensuring sustainable waste reduction practices.
- Design and deliver mandatory safety training programs, including emergency response drills and hazard awareness workshops.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety considerations into all phases of project planning and execution.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety performance and environmental impact, reporting progress to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
- Certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in EHS management within the manufacturing or industrial sector.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian environmental regulations (CCME) and workplace safety standards.
- Proven track record of successfully managing ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 certifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex data to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in EHS management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
