Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive EHS policies, procedures, and programs that align with local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA).
- Compliance Management: Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure full regulatory compliance across all departments.
- Culture of Safety: Champion a proactive safety culture by leading training sessions, safety committees, and incident prevention campaigns.
- Incident Investigation: Lead root cause analyses for accidents and near-misses, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Environmental Stewardship: Oversee waste management, emissions monitoring, and sustainability initiatives to minimize our environmental footprint.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders regarding EHS matters.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety metrics and drive initiatives to reduce incident rates and cost of compliance.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in EHS management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Certifications: Professional Safety Certification (e.g., CSP, CSHO, CIRO) is highly required.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA regulations, ISO 14001/45001 management systems, and incident investigation techniques.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex data to executive leadership.
- Leadership: Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing change management initiatives.
