Responsibilities
- Lead the technical planning and design of drilling and well completion operations for offshore rigs.
- Analyze geological and geophysical data to optimize well placement and trajectory.
- Ensure strict compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) regulations and company policies.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and field staff during drilling operations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including geologists, petrophysicists, and contractors.
- Monitor rig performance and troubleshoot technical issues in real-time.
- Prepare detailed drilling reports and present recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in drilling engineering, with a focus on offshore operations.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Strong working knowledge of drilling simulation software and database management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
- Valid offshore survival certification (e.g., BOSIET).
- Proven track record of managing budgets and timelines for drilling projects.
