Responsibilities
- Design and plan drilling operations, including well architecture, well control strategies, and casing programs.
- Analyze geological and geophysical data to recommend optimal drilling fluid systems and cementing strategies.
- Oversee drilling rigs and supervise field personnel to ensure operational efficiency and strict adherence to safety protocols (HSE).
- Conduct real-time analysis of drilling parameters to troubleshoot problems and optimize well performance.
- Manage project budgets, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and prepare technical reports for stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (API) and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (geologists, reservoir engineers, service companies).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in drilling engineering, with a proven track record in onshore or offshore operations.
- Proficiency in drilling simulation software (e.g., Landmark, PHDWIN, DrillingInfo, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of API standards, drilling mechanics, and wellbore stability principles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
