Responsibilities
- Design and execute complex drilling programs for onshore and offshore assets, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Analyze geological data and drilling parameters to optimize wellbore stability and minimize non-productive time (NPT).
- Lead and mentor junior engineers and field crews, fostering a culture of safety and technical excellence.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including geoscientists, completions engineers, and contractors, to resolve technical challenges.
- Manage budgets and schedules for drilling projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
- Ensure strict adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in upstream oil & gas drilling operations.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in drilling simulation software (e.g., Landmark, IHS Markit, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of drilling fluids, well control, and directional drilling techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make high-pressure decisions.
