Responsibilities
- Design and supervise drilling programs, including well planning, trajectory design, and completion strategies.
- Analyze geological and engineering data to optimize wellbore placement and drilling parameters.
- Ensure all drilling operations comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Lead technical reviews and risk assessments to mitigate operational hazards and cost overruns.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including geoscientists, reservoir engineers, and field operators.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to ensure project success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a focus on drilling.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in upstream oil and gas drilling operations.
- Valid Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is highly preferred.
- Proficient in drilling simulation software such as Landmark, Petrel, or CMG.
- Strong knowledge of well control procedures and HSE regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
