Responsibilities
- Design and execute complex drilling programs, including well planning, trajectory modeling, and pressure management strategies.
- Lead on-site technical supervision and decision-making during critical drilling phases to ensure project milestones are met.
- Analyze drilling performance data in real-time to optimize parameters, minimize non-productive time (NPT), and reduce costs.
- Ensure strict compliance with all HSE regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate closely with geologists, geophysicists, and contractors to integrate geological data with engineering execution.
- Manage project budgets, forecast expenses, and provide accurate reporting to senior management.
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct technical training sessions to foster professional development within the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in drilling engineering within the oil and gas industry.
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) license is strongly preferred.
- Deep technical expertise in drilling fluids, well control, and directional drilling techniques.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale drilling projects with budgets exceeding $50 million.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Landmark, CMG, or similar drilling simulation tools.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
