Responsibilities
- Lead the design, execution, and optimization of drilling programs, ensuring alignment with geological objectives and reservoir management strategies.
- Conduct real-time analysis of drilling parameters to troubleshoot wellbore instability issues and minimize Non-Productive Time (NPT).
- Ensure strict compliance with HSE regulations, company policies, and industry best practices throughout all drilling phases.
- Manage project budgets, estimate drilling costs, and provide detailed reporting on technical and financial performance.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including geoscientists, completions engineers, and operations staff to resolve complex technical challenges.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and drilling crew members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; valid drilling license is mandatory.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in onshore drilling operations, with a focus on complex well profiles.
- Proficiency in drilling simulation software (e.g., Landmark, Techlog, or similar) and data analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of drilling fluids, cementing, and completions technologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to stakeholders clearly.
