Responsibilities
- Design and optimize drilling programs for unconventional reservoirs, including horizontal and directional wells
- Perform hydraulic calculations, wellbore stability analysis, and casing/tubing design
- Develop drilling cost estimates and AFEs (Authorization for Expenditure) with precision
- Lead real-time drilling operations troubleshooting and recommend technical solutions
- Mentor junior engineers and facilitate knowledge transfer through technical reviews
- Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and implement zero-incident protocols
- Collaborate with reservoir and completion engineers for integrated project planning
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 8 years of experience in upstream drilling operations
- Proficiency in drilling software (e.g., COMPAS, Wellplan, Petrel)
- Strong understanding of well control procedures and NACE standards
- Proven track record in optimizing drilling performance in shale plays
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Experience managing drilling contracts and vendor relationships
- Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to work under pressure
