Responsibilities
- Design and optimize drilling programs for onshore/offshore operations using advanced simulation software
- Lead risk assessments and implement robust safety protocols exceeding industry standards
- Collaborate with geoscience teams to integrate geological data into drilling strategies
- Manage drilling contracts and oversee service provider performance metrics
- Develop cost-effective solutions reducing operational expenditure by 15-20%
- Mentor junior engineers through technical training and knowledge sharing initiatives
- Stay current with emerging drilling technologies and regulatory changes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 8 years of hands-on drilling engineering experience in US unconventional plays
- Proficiency in drilling software (Petrel, COMPAS, Wellplan) and data analytics tools
- Strong understanding of well control procedures and HSE management systems
- Proven track record in reducing non-productive time (NPT) by 25%+
- Valid Well Control certification (IWCF/IADC) at supervisor level
- Demonstrated project management experience with budgets exceeding $50M
