Responsibilities
- Design and optimize drilling programs for unconventional reservoirs using advanced simulation software
- Lead real-time drilling operations analysis, troubleshooting, and contingency planning
- Collaborate with geoscience teams to integrate geological data into drilling strategies
- Manage drilling budgets, cost controls, and contract negotiations
- Implement HSE protocols ensuring zero-incident operations
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct technical training sessions
- Develop innovative solutions for drilling challenges in high-pressure/high-temperature environments
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in upstream drilling operations
- Proven expertise in directional drilling and well control management
- Proficiency in drilling software (e.g., PETREL, COMPASS, Wellplan)
- Strong understanding of drilling fluids and cementing technologies
- Valid Well Control Certification (IWCF or equivalent)
- Demonstrated project leadership in complex drilling environments
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
