Responsibilities
- Design and execute drilling programs for onshore and offshore wells
- Optimize drilling parameters to maximize efficiency and minimize costs
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with geoscience teams to integrate subsurface data
- Manage drilling contracts and vendor relationships
- Develop wellbore trajectories and casing designs
- Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and industry standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering
- Minimum 8 years of drilling engineering experience
- Proficiency in drilling software (e.g., Petrel, COMPAS, Wellplan)
- Strong knowledge of directional drilling and well control techniques
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Experience with unconventional resources (shale, tight formations)
- Proven track record in cost reduction and operational excellence
