Responsibilities
- Design and optimize drilling programs for unconventional shale plays and offshore developments
- Lead real-time drilling operations troubleshooting and mitigation planning
- Develop cost-effective well designs integrating directional drilling and hydraulic fracturing technologies
- Collaborate with geoscience and reservoir engineering teams to maximize recovery factors
- Implement HSE protocols ensuring zero-incident drilling operations
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct technical training sessions
- Prepare detailed drilling reports and regulatory compliance documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (MS preferred)
- Minimum 8 years of experience in upstream drilling operations
- Proven expertise in well planning software (e.g., COMPASS, PETREL)
- Deep understanding of drilling fluids and cementing technologies
- Strong analytical skills for pressure control and wellbore stability modeling
- Certification in Well Control (IWCF Level 4 or equivalent)
- Experience managing drilling budgets exceeding $50M
- Knowledge of emerging drilling automation and digital twin technologies
