Responsibilities

  • Analyze, evaluate, and price complex commercial property and casualty risks to ensure profitable portfolio growth.
  • Develop and maintain strong, high-conversion relationships with premier independent insurance agents and brokers across the Northeast region.
  • Collaborate with risk control, actuarial, and claims departments to optimize risk mitigation strategies.
  • Mentor, coach, and provide technical guidance to junior underwriting staff and underwriting assistants.
  • Utilize advanced predictive modeling and proprietary data analytics tools to refine risk selection and pricing accuracy.
  • Negotiate bespoke policy terms, conditions, and pricing structures for high-value accounts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in commercial property and casualty (P&C) underwriting, preferably targeting mid-market or large accounts.
  • Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), AU, or CIC designation (highly preferred or in active pursuit).
