Responsibilities
- Evaluate and analyze complex commercial property and casualty risks to determine insurability.
- Manage a high-value renewal book and proactively pursue profitable new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external brokers to negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing.
- Monitor market trends and adjust underwriting guidelines to maintain a competitive edge.
- Mentor junior underwriters and provide technical guidance on complex policy filings.
- Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements and internal risk appetite standards.
- Develop and nurture strong long-term relationships with regional brokerage partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting (Property/Liability).
- Professional designation such as CPCU, ARM, or AU preferred.
- Advanced analytical skills with a focus on loss control and data-driven decision making.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for high-stakes negotiation.
- Proficiency in industry-standard underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
