Responsibilities
- Evaluate and price complex commercial property and casualty risks within established underwriting guidelines.
- Manage a diverse book of business with a focus on retention and profitable growth.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and site inspections as required to determine insurability.
- Collaborate with the sales and distribution teams to expand market presence and strengthen broker partnerships.
- Monitor loss ratios and implement corrective actions for underperforming segments.
- Mentor junior underwriting staff and contribute to team process improvements.
- Stay abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive offerings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of commercial lines underwriting experience.
- Strong knowledge of ISO forms, commercial multi-peril, and general liability coverage.
- Proven track record of managing a profitable book of business.
- Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) or equivalent designation preferred.
- Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in modern underwriting platforms and data analysis software.
