Responsibilities
- Analyze and underwrite complex commercial accounts, ensuring adherence to corporate underwriting guidelines.
- Manage a high-value pipeline of renewal and new business submissions with a focus on profitability.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokerage partners to achieve production targets.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and site inspections as necessary for high-exposure accounts.
- Collaborate with actuaries and claim departments to refine pricing strategies and risk models.
- Mentor junior underwriting staff and participate in peer review sessions to ensure high quality standards.
- Represent the company at industry events and client meetings to promote brand excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in commercial lines underwriting, specifically in Middle Market or Large Account segments.
- Advanced proficiency in property and casualty (P&C) policy forms and risk analysis.
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of managing profitable broker relationships.
- Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or AU are highly preferred.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and specialized underwriting software.
