Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial risk submissions to determine insurability and pricing accuracy.
- Build and maintain strong, profitable relationships with key brokerage partners.
- Monitor portfolio performance and identify trends to optimize underwriting guidelines.
- Collaborate with the actuarial team to refine pricing models for specialized industries.
- Mentor junior underwriters on technical coverage analysis and negotiation strategies.
- Execute complex policy endorsements and renewals within defined underwriting authority levels.
- Participate in periodic audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Commercial Lines Underwriting.
- Deep understanding of Property & Casualty (P&C) coverage forms and rating mechanisms.
- Proven track record of managing a multi-million dollar book of business.
- Professional designation such as CPCU, CIC, or ARM highly preferred.
- Exceptional analytical capabilities with proficiency in industry-standard underwriting software.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
