Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial insurance applications to determine risk acceptability and pricing accuracy.
- Manage and grow a diverse book of business with a focus on specialty commercial lines.
- Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key broker partners and producers.
- Collaborate with the actuarial and legal departments to ensure compliance with state regulations.
- Monitor market trends and competitive landscape to adjust underwriting strategies proactively.
- Mentor junior underwriters and provide technical guidance on complex policy endorsements.
- Maintain high standards of documentation and file integrity in accordance with company policy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in commercial lines underwriting (Property & Casualty focus).
- Professional designation such as CPCU, ARM, or AU highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in analyzing financial statements and loss runs.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and analytical decision-making skills.
- Advanced knowledge of state regulatory requirements and insurance policy forms.
- Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
