Responsibilities
- Analyze and underwrite complex commercial accounts within established authority limits.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokerage partners to ensure a robust pipeline of high-quality business.
- Collaborate with actuarial and claims teams to refine underwriting guidelines and risk appetite.
- Review policy terms and conditions to ensure accuracy, regulatory compliance, and alignment with corporate strategy.
- Mentor junior underwriting staff and provide technical guidance on challenging account submissions.
- Monitor portfolio performance and implement corrective measures when necessary.
- Represent the company at industry events and client meetings to enhance market presence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Commercial Lines underwriting (Property/Casualty).
- Professional designation such as CPCU, ARM, or CIC is highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of the US insurance market, policy forms, and regulatory environments.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize data-driven insights into actionable decisions.
- Proven track record of maintaining profitability while managing a high-volume book of business.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and specialized insurance underwriting software.
