Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate complex commercial insurance risks to determine insurability and premium adequacy.
- Manage a diverse portfolio of middle-market accounts, ensuring high retention and profitability.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key insurance brokers and agency partners.
- Conduct thorough audits of policy terms and conditions to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Claims and Legal departments to resolve coverage disputes effectively.
- Mentor junior underwriters and participate in team-wide training initiatives.
- Utilize advanced actuarial data and predictive modeling to refine pricing strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting (Property/Casualty focus).
- Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or AU are highly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in risk analysis software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of local and national regulatory insurance frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
- Proven track record of managing profitable books of business in a competitive market.
