Responsibilities
- Evaluate complex commercial risk applications to determine insurability and appropriate pricing.
- Manage and grow a book of mid-to-large market commercial lines business.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key retail brokers and agency partners.
- Monitor loss ratios and implement corrective actions for underperforming segments.
- Mentor junior underwriting staff and provide technical guidance on complex policy endorsements.
- Collaborate with claims and loss control departments to ensure proactive risk management.
- Represent the firm at industry events and contribute to strategic product development initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in Commercial Lines Underwriting.
- Proven track record of profitable book management and growth.
- Deep understanding of ISO forms, rating plans, and state regulatory requirements.
- Industry certifications such as CPCU, ARM, or AU-M preferred.
- Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and decision-making capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite and industry-standard underwriting software.
