Responsibilities
- Evaluate complex commercial property and casualty risks to determine insurability and pricing accuracy.
- Manage a high-value portfolio of accounts, ensuring adherence to corporate underwriting guidelines and authority levels.
- Develop and nurture strong, long-term relationships with key regional brokers and stakeholders.
- Analyze loss trends and financial data to improve portfolio performance and risk selection.
- Collaborate with risk engineering and claims departments to develop tailored solutions for complex client needs.
- Mentor junior underwriters, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Monitor market conditions to adjust underwriting strategies and identify new growth opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of commercial lines underwriting experience with proven authority.
- Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or CIC are highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of policy forms, rating structures, and regulatory requirements.
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial statements and loss reports.
- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, capable of influencing high-level stakeholders.
- Proficiency in industry-standard underwriting software and MS Office Suite.
