Responsibilities
- Evaluate complex commercial property and casualty risks to determine insurability and premium adequacy.
- Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key brokerage partners to grow our regional book of business.
- Conduct thorough loss analysis and trend forecasting to mitigate potential portfolio exposure.
- Collaborate with the actuarial team to refine pricing models for evolving market conditions.
- Mentor junior underwriters and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Negotiate policy terms and conditions while maintaining strict adherence to corporate underwriting guidelines.
- Stay ahead of industry regulatory shifts to ensure total compliance and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, or a related business field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting (Property/Liability).
- Active CPCU or ARM designation preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools and MS Excel.
- Strong analytical mindset with a proven ability to interpret complex financial statements.
- Excellent communication skills with a track record of effective brokerage negotiation.
- Deep understanding of state insurance regulations and policy forms.
