Responsibilities
- Analyze and underwrite complex commercial accounts, ensuring alignment with company risk appetite.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and agency partners.
- Manage a high-value portfolio of commercial lines business with a focus on profitability and growth.
- Collaborate with loss control and claims departments to mitigate risk and improve policyholder experience.
- Mentor junior underwriting staff and provide technical guidance on complex policy structures.
- Utilize advanced underwriting tools and data analytics to optimize pricing and risk selection.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive market conditions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7+ years of commercial lines underwriting experience, preferably in middle-market or large accounts.
- Active CPCU, ARM, or equivalent insurance designations preferred.
- Deep understanding of property and casualty coverage forms, rating plans, and state filings.
- Proven ability to negotiate terms and conditions with brokers and stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical skills with a focus on portfolio performance and risk modeling.
- Proficiency in modern underwriting software suites and Microsoft Office 365.
