Responsibilities
- Analyze and underwrite complex new and renewal commercial business submissions.
- Maintain a high-quality, profitable book of business while meeting production targets.
- Cultivate and manage long-term relationships with key insurance brokers and agents.
- Perform comprehensive risk assessment and exposure analysis for diverse industry segments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop creative underwriting solutions.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and internal corporate underwriting guidelines.
- Mentor junior underwriting staff to foster a culture of professional excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in commercial lines underwriting (Property/Casualty).
- Strong proficiency in risk appetite assessment and technical pricing models.
- Active CPCU, ARM, or AU professional designation preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage a pipeline of work in a high-volume setting.
- Deep understanding of commercial insurance forms, endorsements, and rating structures.
