Responsibilities
- Analyze complex insurance applications to determine risk appetite and pricing strategies for commercial lines portfolios.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Lead and mentor a team of junior underwriters, providing training and guidance on technical underwriting standards.
- Collaborate with the actuarial and claims teams to design and refine insurance products that meet market demands.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to ensure Apex Global remains competitive and innovative.
- Assess and manage a high-value book of business, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- ACII or CII qualification (Level 6 or higher) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in commercial lines underwriting, with a proven track record of profitability.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make sound commercial judgments.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Deep understanding of risk management principles and regulatory compliance within the UK insurance sector.
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in Finance, Mathematics, or a related field.
