Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate complex commercial risk submissions for new and renewal business.
- Execute underwriting decisions within established authority levels, ensuring strict adherence to company guidelines.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key brokers and agency partners.
- Monitor portfolio performance metrics and implement proactive adjustments to maintain profitability.
- Mentor junior underwriting staff and participate in peer review sessions to ensure quality control.
- Drive innovation in risk assessment by leveraging data analytics and emerging industry technologies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Claims and Actuarial departments to refine pricing strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of commercial lines underwriting experience, specifically in middle-market or large account sectors.
- Professional insurance designations such as CPCU, ARM, or AU are highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of commercial property, general liability, and umbrella lines.
- Advanced proficiency in risk analysis software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven ability to negotiate complex terms and manage high-pressure renewals.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for client-facing engagements.
