Responsibilities
- Evaluate complex commercial property and casualty risks to determine insurability and pricing.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key national brokerage partners.
- Monitor portfolio performance and identify trends to optimize underwriting guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal actuarial and claims teams to refine product strategies.
- Mentor junior underwriters and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Negotiate terms and conditions on large-account renewals and new business opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in commercial insurance underwriting.
- Deep understanding of commercial lines (GL, Property, Umbrella, Excess).
- Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or AU are highly preferred.
- Exceptional analytical skills with a proficiency in underwriting software and Excel.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive profitable growth.
