Responsibilities
- Analyze, investigate, and evaluate complex P&C insurance claims to determine coverage and liability.
- Conduct thorough field inspections and evidence gathering to support claim findings.
- Negotiate fair settlements with claimants, attorneys, and third-party representatives.
- Maintain precise and compliant documentation within our proprietary claims management software.
- Mentor junior adjusters and assist in the development of departmental best practices.
- Collaborate with legal counsel on litigation strategies for high-exposure claims.
- Ensure adherence to all state and federal insurance regulations and internal policy standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in property and casualty claims adjustment.
- Active Adjuster License in the state of Connecticut (or ability to obtain reciprocal licenses).
- Proven ability to negotiate high-value settlements with a focus on cost containment.
- Advanced proficiency in Xactimate or similar industry-standard estimating software.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder management.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify fraudulent activities.
