Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse caseload of complex property and casualty claims from inception through to settlement.
- Conduct thorough on-site investigations to determine coverage, liability, and the scope of damages.
- Review and interpret policy language to provide accurate coverage determinations.
- Negotiate settlements with claimants, legal counsel, and third-party vendors professionally.
- Maintain impeccable documentation within the claim management system, ensuring compliance with state regulations.
- Collaborate with internal legal and underwriting departments to mitigate risk and resolve disputes.
- Provide exceptional customer service to policyholders, ensuring timely updates and compassionate communication.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in property and casualty claims adjustment.
- Active Adjuster License in Connecticut and/or multi-state reciprocity.
- Deep understanding of insurance policy contracts and standard legal procedures.
- Superior negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with modern claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
