Responsibilities
- Investigate, analyze, and determine the extent of company liability for property and casualty claims.
- Review insurance policies to confirm coverage applicability and interpret complex policy language.
- Communicate directly with policyholders, witnesses, and legal counsel to gather evidence and ensure transparent reporting.
- Evaluate estimates and repair costs, negotiating settlements that align with company guidelines.
- Prepare detailed, accurate documentation and maintain claim files in compliance with state regulations.
- Collaborate with internal underwriting and risk management teams to identify trends and minimize future exposure.
- Provide expert testimony or reports for litigated claims as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in property and casualty claims adjustment.
- Active Adjuster License in the state of Connecticut or ability to obtain one within 90 days.
- Deep understanding of state insurance laws and regulatory compliance standards.
- Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in industry-standard claims management software (e.g., Guidewire, Xactimate).
- Proven ability to manage high-volume caseloads with high attention to detail.
