Responsibilities
- Lead design and analysis of transportation, water resource, and structural systems using AutoCAD Civil 3D and BIM technologies
- Manage project lifecycles from conception to completion, ensuring compliance with ICC, AASHTO, and Chicago Building Codes
- Conduct site investigations, geotechnical assessments, and feasibility studies for complex urban projects
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate multidisciplinary teams including architects, environmental scientists, and contractors
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, cost estimates, and permit applications for municipal review
- Implement sustainable design principles and LEED certification protocols in all infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited institution (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years progressive experience in civil infrastructure design with emphasis on urban environments
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Advanced proficiency in structural analysis software (STAAD.Pro, SAP2000) and hydraulic modeling (HEC-RAS)
- Demonstrated success in managing projects exceeding $10M with complex regulatory requirements
- Strong understanding of ADA compliance, FHWA guidelines, and TxDOT specifications
- Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) or LEED AP BD+C designation highly desirable
