Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of civil engineering projects, from initial feasibility studies and site surveys to final construction and inspection.
- Oversee the preparation of detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Civil 3D.
- Ensure strict compliance with local, state, and federal building codes, zoning laws, and environmental regulations within the New York area.
- Conduct thorough site inspections to monitor project progress, quality control, and safety standards on active construction sites.
- Manage and mentor a team of junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
- Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and clients to translate design concepts into reality while adhering to budget and timeline constraints.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, cost estimates, and project proposals to secure stakeholder buy-in.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) from an accredited university.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory for this position.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on structural design and project management.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit) and structural analysis tools (STELLA, RAM Concept).
- Deep understanding of construction materials, methods, and civil infrastructure systems.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical data to non-technical stakeholders.
