We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team in the heart of London. Apex Civil Engineering is a leader in sustainable urban development, and we are looking for a visionary professional to oversee the planning, design, and execution of large-scale infrastructure projects.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical design and practical site application, ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to deliver world-class solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and supervision of complex civil engineering projects, including roadways, drainage systems, and structural foundations.
- Manage project lifecycles from concept through to completion, ensuring strict adherence to budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
- Conduct site surveys, inspections, and feasibility studies to identify technical challenges and propose innovative solutions.
- Ensure full compliance with local building codes, safety regulations (HSE), and environmental guidelines.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, specifications, and contract documents for internal review and client presentation.
- Mentor junior engineers and site staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in civil engineering, preferably within the UK infrastructure sector.
- BEng (Hons) or MEng degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (MSc in Structural Engineering is a plus).
- Chartered status (ICE) or working towards chartership is highly desirable.
- Proficient in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, and MicroStation.
- Strong knowledge of UK building regulations (Building Regulations Approved Documents) and health and safety legislation.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
