Responsibilities
- Design and oversee complex civil infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, and stormwater management systems
- Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments
- Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and regulatory agencies (TxDOT, FEMA, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with ADA, AASHTO, and local building codes while optimizing project efficiency
- Lead quality control processes and implement sustainable design principles (LEED certification preferred)
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct peer reviews of technical documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited institution (MS preferred)
- Minimum 8 years of progressive civil engineering experience with infrastructure focus
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Advanced proficiency in BIM/CIM software (Civil 3D, Revit, InfraWorks)
- Demonstrated expertise in transportation engineering and hydraulic modeling (HEC-RAS, SWMM)
- Strong knowledge of TxDOT standards and municipal permitting processes
- Project management certification (PMP) or equivalent experience
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills with client-facing experience
