Responsibilities
- Lead Project Lifecycle: Oversee the full project lifecycle from conceptual design and feasibility studies through to construction supervision and final handover.
- Technical Design & Compliance: Develop detailed civil engineering designs, ensuring strict adherence to UK building codes, local regulations, and environmental standards.
- Site Management: Conduct regular site inspections and manage on-site teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and contractors, providing clear technical briefs and updates.
- HSE Leadership: Champion Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) protocols, ensuring a zero-accident culture across all project sites.
- Cost Control: Monitor project costs, prepare accurate estimates, and manage variations to ensure financial targets are met.
Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree (MEng or BEng) in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering, preferably within the UK construction sector.
- Professional Status: Chartered Member (CEng) status with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or equivalent professional body.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and industry-standard project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of CDM Regulations 2015, Highway Authority standards, and building control regulations.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership abilities, strong problem-solving skills, and the capacity to work effectively under pressure.
