Responsibilities
- Lead the design and analysis of civil infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, and drainage systems, ensuring compliance with UK Building Regulations and safety standards.
- Oversee the project lifecycle from concept through to construction completion, managing budgets, timelines, and resource allocation effectively.
- Conduct site surveys, feasibility studies, and detailed structural analysis to identify potential risks and propose innovative engineering solutions.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, surveyors, and contractors, to ensure seamless integration of design elements.
- Prepare and review detailed technical drawings, specifications, and tender documents using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
- Mentor junior engineers and engineering graduates, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure all project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with environmental and sustainability regulations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-7 years of proven experience in civil engineering, preferably within the UK construction industry.
- Chartered status (MICE or CEng) from a recognized institution such as the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (MSc or higher preferred).
- Proficiency in using BIM (Building Information Modeling) software and CAD tools (Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, including CDM Regulations 2015.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to stakeholders clearly.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale projects and leading diverse engineering teams.
