Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design, and analysis for complex civil engineering projects, including site development, roadways, utilities, and stormwater management systems.
  • Manage project lifecycles from initial concept and feasibility studies through design, permitting, and construction support.
  • Perform advanced engineering calculations, prepare technical specifications, reports, and detailed construction drawings.
  • Collaborate effectively with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and internal multidisciplinary teams.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and design staff, fostering their professional development.
  • Ensure all designs and project deliverables comply with local, state, and federal codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Participate in proposal preparation, client presentations, and business development initiatives.
  • Oversee quality control and assurance processes for project deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. Master's degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Washington or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering design and project management, preferably with a consulting firm.
  • Demonstrated expertise in site design, grading, drainage, utility design, and stormwater management (e.g., LID principles).
  • Proficiency with industry-standard software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, StormCAD, WaterCAD, HEC-RAS, and/or other relevant design and analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of local zoning ordinances, permitting processes, and environmental regulations in the Pacific Northwest.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery, client satisfaction, and team leadership.
