Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of diverse civil engineering projects, including transportation, water/wastewater, site development, and flood protection systems.
- Manage projects from conception through completion, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, schedule, and quality standards.
- Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and engineering analyses to inform design decisions and solutions.
- Prepare comprehensive engineering reports, specifications, and construction documents in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction.
- Review and approve plans, designs, and calculations, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with industry best practices.
- Implement innovative engineering solutions to address complex challenges, focusing on sustainability and resilience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in civil engineering design and project management, with significant experience in urban infrastructure projects.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in New York State or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Proficiency with industry-standard software including AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, HEC-RAS, and other relevant design/analysis tools.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of relevant codes, regulations, and permitting processes in New York City and New York State.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Proven leadership abilities and experience in mentoring and guiding engineering teams.
