Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and analysis of complex civil engineering projects, including site development, drainage, utilities, and transportation infrastructure.
- Manage project scope, budget, and schedule to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery, meeting or exceeding client expectations.
- Prepare and review detailed engineering plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and risk assessments to inform design decisions and project strategies.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and design teams, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate effectively with clients, architects, contractors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee construction administration activities, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and conducting site inspections to ensure design integrity.
- Implement sustainable engineering practices and innovative solutions to address environmental considerations and enhance project longevity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution. Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York State or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in civil engineering design and project management, with a strong portfolio of infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, HEC-RAS, StormCAD, ArcGIS).
- Demonstrated experience leading project teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously from concept to closeout.
- Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal codes, regulations, and permitting processes in New York.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with a keen eye for detail and quality.
