Responsibilities
- Lead design and execution of large-scale infrastructure projects including transportation systems, water treatment facilities, and commercial developments
- Perform advanced structural analysis and geotechnical evaluations using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and industry-specific software
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and risk assessments for complex engineering challenges
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with architects, environmental consultants, and government agencies
- Develop detailed construction documents and oversee quality control during implementation phases
- Stay current with emerging technologies like BIM and sustainable infrastructure practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in civil engineering with 3+ years in project leadership
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Expertise in structural design, stormwater management, and transportation infrastructure
- Proven track record of managing projects exceeding $5M in value
- Advanced proficiency in civil engineering software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, GIS)
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety protocols and LEED certification processes
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and client communication skills
